Résumé : Overview of the Eeyou Istchee Climate Monitoring program and the path towards two-way partnerships. In the landscape of Eeyou Istchee (Northern Québec), diverse actors set up weather stations resulting in a fragmented approach to regional monitoring.
Moved by the purpose of climate monitoring for adaptation, Indigenous data governance and local weather forecasting, the Cree Nation fosters regional collaborations and centralization of monitoring following OCAP principles. As we build our expertise, the program supports and actively involves Cree youth in the endeavour.
