Minister of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change Mr. Benoit Charette and Minister of the Economy and Innovation Mr. Pierre Fitzgibbon announced today that funding for Ouranos would be renewed for the next three years. This investment of $19.8M aims to prolong the organization’s mission and support it in completing its Five-year Plan 2020-25.

In light of the economic, social and environmental impacts stemming from climate change, this timely funding will allow the consortium to further pursue its work. Notably, developing applied research projects will help identify solutions for reducing the growing risks throughout Quebec, thereby contributing to bolstering the resilience of the province’s population and economy.

As a hub for innovation and a centre of cooperation that supports Quebec society to better adapt to an evolving climate, the Ouranos consortium is prepared to pursue its mission in collaboration with its numerous partners under its trademark multidisciplinary approach.
