On the heels of Canada’s Changing Climate Report, Natural Resources Canada has just released Canada in a Changing Climate: National Issues, a highly anticipated publication presenting a national overview of the impact of climate change and adaptation solutions across the country.

The report pays particular attention to issues related to urban environments, rural and remote communities, water resources and ecosystemic services. It also addresses the costs of climate change effects and adaptation measures, impacts on economic sectors as well as the financial aspects of climate change.

Regional perspectives

Natural Resources Canada also proposes a third publication entitled Regional Perspectives Report, which discusses how climate change is impacting communities, the environment and the economy, in addition to how regions across the country are adapting.

The chapter on Quebec will be made available shortly. Prepared by Ouranos, it will present the most important vulnerabilities, risks and challenges of climate change in the province. It will also discuss new and innovative approaches for adaptation, Indigenous perspectives, knowledge gaps as well as emerging issues.
