About

May 28 marked the launch of the Cohorte adaptation aux changements climatiques en tourisme. Key players in Quebec's tourism industry came together to prepare their organization for action on climate change adaptation.

A total of 25 tourism associations and partners of the Ministry of Tourism took an active part in this first gathering. Held at the MT Lab premises, this event enabled participating organizations to:

  • reflect as a group on the integration of principles to adopt a sustainable posture;

  • discover tools they can use to develop their action plans.

A structured, innovative approach

This innovative approach is powered by the Maison de l'innovation sociale and MT Lab teams, who will support participating organizations for 6 months.

Among other things, this cohort will help participants in developing an action plan through activities including:

  • 4 gatherings to initiate collective reflection;

  • 3 individual support meetings guided by experts;

  • 4 discussion forums to deepen discussions.

This support is part of a 3-year mandate entrusted to Ouranos by the Ministry of Tourism. This mandate benefits from financial support from the Quebec government in the context of the “2030 Plan for a Green Economy” and is being carried out under the “2020-2025 Action Plan for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism.”
