Yann Chavaillaz is a climatologist with 9 years of professional experience in climate science and climate change issues. He completed a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in climate science, before completing his PhD in climate modeling. He has conducted research on the evolution of climate extremes in Canada, on the impact of climate change on precipitation patterns and on the loss of worker productivity during heat waves. After three years as a climate risk and resilience consultant, he joined the greenhouse gas and climate change expertise unit at Hydro-Québec. In his role, he assists groups in identifying climate change risks and in implementing measures to improve the resilience of the energy system, in addition to working on the assessment of greenhouse gas emissions from reservoirs and hydroelectric plants.
