Mr. Jean graduated from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in physics in 1982 and obtained his Master's degree in meteorology from McGill University in 1987. During his career he has held various positions in operational meteorology and applied research in meteorology and climatology as well as a senior manager with the Meteorological Service of Canada. He has been responsible for many large-scale projects, including the replacement and operation of Environment and Climate Change Canada's supercomputer systems.
