Yannick Rousseau earned a PhD in Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies from Concordia University and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Université de Montréal. He gained professional experience working as a consultant in environment and software development since year 2000. His multidisciplinary abilities led him to develop analytics tools, to perform numerical/statistical modelling, and to visualize natural processes studied in various disciplines, including hydrogeomorphology, geotechnics, hydraulics, hydrology and climate.

He contributes to the success of Ouranos since 2020 by producing climate scenarios as part of boarder national and international studies, to calculate relevant sector-specific climate indices, and to strengthen the technical skillsets of scientific stakeholders with respect to the use of data analytics in climate change adaptation. He took part in several studies aiming at improving the resilience of agriculture to climate hazards.
