Trevor James Smith holds a Master’s degree in Geography, Urbanism and Environmental Studies from Concordia University. In particular, he examined the impact of climate change on Quebec vineyards using climate scenarios and Open Source software.
He has also worked as an environmental research consultant and geographic information systems specialist related to disaster risk management planning in the Eastern Caribbean.
Since joining Ouranos in 2018, his main responsibilities within the Climate Platforms, Data and Operations group include contributing to the development and maintenance of climate research software, as well as supporting the strategic implementation of new technologies and coding standards. He also plays a role in overseeing the integration and management of climate data to enhance climate research support and advance research and development initiatives.
