Summary
Ecological upheavals are leading us towards a profoundly different society... To help Quebec achieve this societal transformation, the Université de Montréal and Espace pour la Vie have joined forces to launch a major social innovation: Chemins de transition. The knowledge of over a thousand experts, professionals and citizens has been mobilized using a new foresight method to address three major challenges (digital, food and territorial transitions) and to map out trajectories for profound transformation of the societal system - Chemins de transition, which provides an engaging and flexible framework for collective action.

Franck Scherrer, alumnus of ENS Paris, PhD in urban planning (Institut d'urbanisme de Paris), is professor of urban planning at the Université de Montréal. He is a former director of the School of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture and of the Institut Environnement - Développement Durable - Economie Circulaire (IEDDEC). His research focuses on urban infrastructure (water, transportation), metropolitan collective action, transitional urban planning and the circular economy. He is currently special advisor and associate vice-rector for research, discovery, creation and innovation at UdeM, where he directs the Chemins de transition initiative.
