What will the energy transition(s) look like for France and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region?
Description
This webinar covers the renewables handbook published by AcclimaTerra (regional scientific committee on climate change) in December 2022.
Summary
In an effort to address the energy and environmental crises, France intends to greenlight the construction of new nuclear reactors and ramp up the development of renewables. Aware that it has fallen behind its European neighbours in this regard, the country notably plans to use the regional level to bring the energy transition closer to residents, renewables being the source of variable degrees of controversy depending on the technologies deployed.
The result of a multidisciplinary effort bringing together some thirty researchers and experts from across the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the renewables handbook published by AcclimaTerra (regional scientific committee on climate change) in December 2022 examines the current state of the energy situation in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in addition to making forecasts for the region for 2030 and 2050.
