Summary
This webinar provide an overview of the climate modelling activities and plans from Environment and Climate Change Canada. This includes the global Earth System Model (CanESM), the regional model (CanRCM), and the application of these models in climate prediction and projection.
Future plans are heavily influenced by new funding we received this year as part of the Federal Government’s National Adaptation Strategy (NAS). The NAS funding is allowing us to add significantly to our scientific staff and comes with a number of deliverables primarily associated with improved representation of climate extremes and enhanced work on extreme event attribution. The NAS funding also provides us will the capability, via the Canadian Centre for Climate Services (CCCS), to serve an enhanced suite of climate products to a growing number of users.
