Heat waves
Extreme heat in Canada and Quebec has increased in intensity and frequency, especially between 1980 and 2015. During this period, the number of hot days and nights gradually increased in line with the warming trend in the average temperature.
In general, Quebec regions recorded a 1 to 3°C increase in their average temperature. Worldwide, the same trend has been observed since 1950.
