Differentiated impacts of climate change and adaptation measures and plans on people experiencing homelessness

Context
While the impacts of climate change and the associated adaptation measures are increasingly being studied for certain more vulnerable segments of the population, less attention is being paid to people experiencing homelessness.
However, this is an essential issue to study, since unhoused people are the most exposed to the vagaries of the weather. They are confronted with a variety of health and systemic factors that increase their sensitivity to these hazards, not to mention the procedural injustices they suffer in climate change adaptation decision-making processes.
This exploratory topic dovetails perfectly with the mission of our partner, the Observatoire québécois des inégalités, which is to inform and evaluate the decision-making of social organizations and to alert them to the issues associated with different forms of inequality in Quebec. This study could provide the basis for the development of a more in-depth collaborative research project in the future.
