Bese, Asli (Ouranos, EN)

Asli has a B.Sc. in Computational Science and Neuroscience and 4 years' experience specializing in sustainable development. Back to academic studies in 2023, Asli recently completed a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Impacts and Adaptation to Climate Change at the University of Toronto. Since September 2024, she has joined the Ouranos teams as a Climate Data Analysis and Management Specialist.

Duong, Frédéric (EN)

With a bachelor's degree in physics from McGill University, Frédéric was involved in solid-state research and took part in national physics competitions. He began his career in information technology, but very quickly, given his programming and technical (server) skills, moved on to new responsibilities. Frédéric joined Ouranos in July 2024 as Infrastructure Management Specialist for scientific computing and climate data

Gauvin St-Denis, Blaise (EN)

Blaise Gauvin St-Denis holds a Master's degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from McGill University, as well as a Master's degree in Machine Learning (Computer Science) from Mila / Université de Montréal. Blaise has accumulated over a decade of experience at Ouranos in the analysis and processing of climate data for use in impact models, mainly in the field of hydrology. He also developed neural networks for flood detection from satellite radar images at Natural Resources Canada. Back at Ouranos since March 2024, he holds the position of Artificial Intelligence Specialist.

Arnal, Louise (Ouranos, EN)

Louise Arnal has been a hydrologist since 2014, specializing in medium- to long-term ensemble hydrological forecasting. She holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Reading (2019), in collaboration with the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). More recently, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Saskatchewan.

Dupuis, Éric (Ouranos EN)

Éric Dupuis holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the Université de Montréal. D. in theoretical physics from the Université de Montréal. He specialized in field theory and the study of topological defects, particularly in applications related to quantum phases of matter.

At Ouranos since 2022, he is part of the team of specialists in climate science, contributing to the development of climate analysis tools and supporting research and development.

Labonté, Marie-Pier (Ouranos, EN)

Marie-Pier Labonté holds a PhD in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from McGill University, where she studied the atmospheric water cycle using an idealized climate model. In the summer of 2021, she completed an internship at Ouranos to create a climate data visualization tool for the Agriclimat project. At Ouranos since 2022, Marie-Pier works in the Climate Simulations and Analysis team.

Gammon, Sarah (Ouranos, EN)

Sarah Gammon completed a Bachelor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2018. Afterwards, she worked as an optical engineer at Lumentum, previously known as JDSU, from 2017 to 2019. She graduated from McGill University in 2022 with a degree in meteorology.

She has been working in the Climate Science and Services team since Fall 2022, acting as a liaison agent between the Climate Scenarios and Services and Climate Platforms, Data and Operations teams. She contributes, among other things, to the Climate Portraits platform at Ouranos.

Pellerin, Pierre (Ouranos, ANG)

Following his university study project in numerical method supervised by André Robert, he was hired at ECCC's Numerical Environmental Prediction Research RPN group to work on the development of the first versions of limited-area atmospheric models. Subsequently, his research work was oriented towards numerical environmental prediction by working on the development of the first deterministic forecasting system coupled atmosphere-ocean-ice, as well as the development of the hydrometeorological forecasting system.

Vu, Long (Ouranos, ANG)

Long Vu holds a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Concordia University. He has worked as a software developer since 2004 for several companies such as Oracle, Vantrix and Intelerad Medical Systems.

With Ouranos since 2019, he is part of the Climate Science team where he contributes to the PAVICS platform (Platform for the Analysis and Visualization of Climate Science).
