Legault, Simon (EN)

Simon has a university background in meteorology and teaching, as well as solid expertise in scientific communication and climate emergency management. With a DESS from UQÀM and operational experience at Environment Canada, he was responsible for weather forecasting and emergency response coordination. As an alert awareness meteorologist, he has supported emergency organizations and provided accurate information to stakeholders and the media for many years. Simon joined Ouranos in 2024 as a scientific communicator.

Beauchamp, Myriam (EN)

Myriam Beauchamp is a graduate of the environmental field with a master's degree in climatology and climate change. She has extensive expertise in project management and has acted as a consultant in sustainable development and the environment. Scientific popularization, knowledge transfer and training have always been part of her professional career. She has even collaborated with Ouranos on a project with the Grand Council of the Waban-Aki Nation to develop an adaptation plan for aboriginal communities.

Payette, Martin (Ouranos EN)

Martin Payette holds a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from Université de Montréal, an M.Sc. in Biology from Université du Québec à Montréal and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Concordia University. He comes to Ouranos with a wealth of multidisciplinary experience in research, science popularization, writing and audio/video production for a variety of audiences.

Montagny, Ségolène (Ouranos, EN)

Ségolène Montagny holds a B.Sc. in Life Sciences and Humanities from Lyon (France) and an International Master's in Environment, Biodiversity and Land Management from Sherbrooke and Montpellier Universities. She has solid writing and project management skills. She has worked as a project manager assessing adaptation plans, urban biodiversity and greening in various municipalities in Quebec and France.

Quintin, Chantal (Ouranos, ANG)

Chantal Quintin holds a Master's degree in Wildlife and Habitat Management from the University of Quebec in Rimouski. Her years of experience as a professional in the research community and within NPOs have allowed her to develop expertise in the promotion of scientific knowledge in order to inspire adaptation in the context of climate change.

Since 2015, Chantal Quintin has collaborated as a consultant on projects of the Maritime Environment program, and since 2020, she has been working within the team of specialists of the Knowledge Mobilization and Training Team

Marchand-Thériault, Alexandre (Ouranos, ANG)

Alexandre Marchand-Thériault holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management and Climate Change from the University of Sherbrooke. He has worked in the field of limnology in non-profit organizations and with universities. He also worked at Nature-Action Québec on the production of a climate change adaptation plan, as well as on projects aimed at the conservation of biodiversity in forest and agricultural environments.

Alberti-Dufort, Angelica (Ouranos, ANG)

Angelica Alberti-Dufort holds a professional Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnique de Montréal, with a specialization in urban resilience and environmental responsibility, as well as a Bachelor's degree in physical geography from the University of Montreal. She moved into the world of science communication by working as a researcher and science writer for the web media specializing in climate change unpointcinq.ca.

Charron, Isabelle (Ouranos, ANG)

Isabelle Charron holds a PhD in Forest Ecology from the University of Calgary. She taught natural resource management in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment at Concordia University for many years.

With Ouranos since 2010, first as a specialist in climate scenarios, Isabelle is now in charge of training and focuses on the preparation of tools and workshops to facilitate knowledge transfer within the vulnerability community, impact and adaptation.

Hachem, Sonia (Ouranos, ANG)

Sonia Hachem holds a PhD in Geographic Sciences from Laval University. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the mapping of permafrost zones from satellite images in the circum-Arctic zone with Laval University, Waterloo University and the European Space Agency. She also holds a degree in Higher Education Pedagogy. She worked as a geography teacher at the college level for 6 years.

At Ouranos since 2019, she joigned the Knowledge Transfer andTraining team in 2020.
